We are humbled and overwhelmed to have received a phenomenal donation of £10,000 from Joe, who is currently accessing one of our services at Willowbrook Hospice.
This significant contribution will help us to continue providing our first class services and make a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and their families across St Helens & Knowsley.
We met up with Joe and his Step Daughter Sharon, to hear why he chose to donate such a generous amount to Willowbrook.
Joe said, “I have worked in healthcare for 40 years, as a nurse within the NHS and care homes, and through the years, managed to build up a decent nest egg. I was referred to Willowbrook Hospice via Clatterbridge, receiving symptom management from Advanced Nurse Practitioner Andrew Evans. The care and service I have received has been fantastic.
Andrew is so approachable and has given me so much support when I have really struggled to get help from elsewhere.
I wanted to donate to Willowbrook because I am so grateful for all that they have done for me, and want my contribution to allow others to have the same care too.”
As a small local charity, relying so heavily on fundraising and donations this will make such a difference to the future of hospice services.
Thank you again to Joe from everyone at Willowbrook Hospice, for his kindness and generosity, we really are so grateful.
