A huge thank you to Russ who popped in recently with his companion Ben and donated £1000!
Russ has raised this money with his friends at Mud Brothers through metal detecting but he also told us about the monumental amount of aluminium cans he has collected- 2.3 tonnes to be precise since January 2023.
Russ and his dog Ben have litter picked every day, and his neighbours in the Blackbrook, Haresfinch and Haydock areas have also been collecting cans and donating them to Russ. Blackbrook Rugby Club also supported this.
On a weekly basis, Russ and his wife have crushed the cans, this can be up to 4000 cans every Sunday!
We are absolutely astounded at the effort that Russ, Russ’ wife and the community have put into this to raise these funds, thank you.
