Celebrating an incredible family and their support!

A huge thank you to Stu Worrall and his family for their ongoing dedication to Willowbrook Hospice. Stu recently completed the Lakeland 50 Mile Ultra Mountain Marathon, raising funds in memory of his dad, Alan, who was cared for with such dignity at Willowbrook back in 2006.

Even all these years later, the family continues to find comfort in the hospice and the care he received. Stu, his wife Louise and sons Jack and Nathan have all done their share of fundraising. Over the years, the Worralls’ Lakeland fundraising journey has been inspiring:

• 2019: Jack raised £700

• 2021: Stu raised £1,446

• 2022: Stu & Louise raised £1,085

• 2023: Stu, Louise & Nathan raised £1,400

This year marked Stu’s 5th Lakeland 50-mile run and his 50th birthday. With this effort, the family’s total Lakeland fundraising has now reached almost £6,000 which is incredible – all to give back to the hospice that has meant so much to them.

The family’s support doesn’t stop at fundraising. Stu’s mum, Ann, began volunteering in our hospice shops around a year after Alan’s passing. Since then, she has contributed over 2,500 hours, saving the hospice £32,000 in staffing costs, with her incredible commitment! 🙌

Stu says: “It’s only done to support the amazing work everyone at Willowbrook does, and a place we hold special in our hearts. Any donation, no matter how small, is hugely appreciated.”

We are truly overwhelmed by the Worrall family’s support – fundraising, volunteering, and giving their time. They are an inspiration to us all.

Due to the current situation with Coronavirus and for the wellbeing of our patients, we kindly ask that all monetary donations are paid direct to our bank account, via online access to Nat West Bank:
