We’re thrilled to share the story of Karen, one of our amazing volunteers who has become an invaluable part of the Willowbrook family.
Earlier this year, Karen, who previously ran her own successful beauty therapy and massage business, saw a Facebook post asking for volunteers. Inspired, she joined our Outreach team, giving hand massages, leading guided meditation, and spending time getting to know our patients.
Karen says: “I was so nervous when I started as I had never worked in a hospice environment before. Everyone made me feel so welcome and the team were so helpful and friendly. I would say to anyone thinking of volunteering to just do it! Whether you are a bit lost, need some company, or just want to give something back to a wonderful cause, just volunteer at Willowbrook! It is brilliant!”
Her confidence and dedication have now led her to a new role – we’re delighted to welcome Karen as our Holistic Support!
