We are delighted that Robert Hale, Captain of Grange Park Golf Club has chosen Willowbrook Hospice as his nominated charity of the year!

“It is a great honour to be elected as Captain for Grange Park Golf Club, I am looking forward to the commitments and activities over the next year.
Grange Park is one of the oldest Golf clubs in St Helens and is now in its 133th year. Under 10’s can learn to play golf here for the first time to encourage youngsters to play the great game of golf at all levels. We have many members continue to play well into their 90’s.
I have chosen to raise funds for Willowbrook Hospice, as they are renowned for the fantastic work they do for our local community, especially for those who need it the most, such as patients with life limiting illnesses.
All the members of the Golf Club are very pleased to try and help raise financial support for the year ahead in my captaincy. My target is £6,000 and really hope that this time next year I can hand this amount over to Willowbrook.”
It is wonderful to hear how members of our community are willing to pledge to support our hospice, we are truly grateful and know that our patients will be thankful that the cost of their care has been contributed through the incredible work of local residents.
If you are part of an organisation and would like to nominate Willowbrook as their charity of the year, we would love to hear from you.
Our service is free to access but not free to provide. It costs £5m per year to run our service, with only £1.7m coming from the government, the remainder is raised through regular giving, the hospice lottery, fundraising events, donations and through our retail shops and café.
