Light Up A Life
Light Up A Life 2025

Our Light Up A Life appeal is an opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us.
This Christmas, we invite you to dedicate a light on our tree to honour your loved one’s memory. The light symbolises the enduring light of their memory in your heart.
Your dedication can be made to anyone, whether or not either of you have a connection to the hospice.
Who will be switching on the lights this year?
We have invited the Knox family to officially switch on the lights this year. Colette Knox said: “We are really honoured to be switching on the lights on this year’s Christmas tree. After a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, my husband Tony, spent his final days at Willowbrook Hospice. The care, compassion and dignity shown to him – and to our family – meant more than words could ever express.
Willowbrook gave us the precious gift of time: time to be by Tony’s side, to hold his hand, share memories, and surround him with love in a calm and beautiful setting. Everyone ensured he was free from pain and supported us through every step, allowing us to focus on what mattered most – simply being together.
We will be forever grateful for the love and comfort we received, and are proud to support Willowbrook Hospice in honour of the incredible care Tony was given in his final days.”
When is it happening?
On Saturday 13th December, everyone will be invited to gather from 3.30pm to purchase memory stars to hang on the tree and enjoy some refreshments. Around 3.50pm, we will invite you to gather around the tree. Our service will commence at 4pm and will include readings, Christmas music, choirs and time for reflection.
What is Light Up a Life for?
Suzanne Davies, the hospice’s Fundraising Manager, said: “Light Up A Life is a time for us to bring people together to remember our loved ones and reflect the loss we all feel, especially around Christmas time.
Light Up A Life helps to raise vital funds for the hospice and we would like to thank all of our supporters for their generous donations.”
Books of Honour
For your donation, your loved one’s name(s) will be entered into specially produced books of honour which will be available for you to view at our Light Up A Life service.
All donations received will help to fund the hospice’s medical and nursing services. Due to increased costs we will only be sending cards upon request. Pin badges will be available to purchase on the evening of the event or from any of our shops for £1.
Make your dedication below, to remember your loved one and help raise vital funds for Willowbrook Hospice.
Dedications must be sent by 29th November to be included in our books of honour.
