In response to this article from the St Helens Star, Willowbrook Hospice is pleased to have been included in the recent grant award from the NHS.
Whilst the figure of £24k is helpful and appreciated, this money cannot be used for direct patient and family care and can only be used for upgrades to our buildings, facilities, and equipment.
It costs the hospice nearly £4.5 million a year to provide our critical services to patients, their families, and our wider community and so whilst the grant is welcome, it only represents around 0.5% of our annual costs.
This is why the amazing support of our supporters, partners and volunteers is so important if we are to continue to be able to provide outstanding services to the people of St Helens and Knowsley.
