World Wellbeing Week 2024

World Wellbeing Week was 24th June to 28th June, a global celebration to recognise the awareness and importance of our own wellbeing. The Wellbeing of our people at Willowbrook is central to what we do.

We held a full timetable of events happening internally at the hospice for our staff surrounding mental health and wellbeing.

The week was kickstarted with tea and cake and a chat – everyone was welcome to have a little break out of their day to enjoy a little treat.

We got to know one another better with Quick Fire questions – from our Senior Leadership Team to Volunteers, everyone was invited to take part which provided a lot of laughter as we all discovered interesting facts about one another.

We held a mini roadshow, where community organisations came over to our hospice to share information about what they do. Thank you to Parents in Mind, St Helens Sexual Health, St Helens Carers Centre and AXA Health who attended and provided useful information about their services in our area.

We had two separate ice cream van’s visit during the week, to offer free treats to all our staff, patients, volunteers and visitors. Fortunately these were delivered on very (rare) hot sunny days so were very much welcomed! Thank you to Super Ices and Riley’s Ices for their kindness and generosity.

Fresh fruit platters were available on one of the days in the staff room, and delivered to the shops also.

A Personal Training and a yoga session were delivered to those who wanted to join in.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the activities, we really hope that it boosted your wellbeing!
