We are incredibly touched to share the amazing generosity of David Appleton and his partners at Fiveways Rifle and Piston Club, who have made an outstanding donation of £19,000 to Willowbrook Hospice.
David’s late wife, Sandra, was lovingly cared for by our team in her final days, and when the club recently disbanded, they had some remaining funds that needed to be donated to a good cause. David made the incredibly kind decision to split the funds between Willowbrook Hospice and the Lilac Centre.
As if that wasn’t enough, some members of our fundraising team were kindly invited to a charity fundraiser on Friday evening at St Mary’s Club, Billinge – organised by David and supported by his family and friends.
It was a fantastic night filled with entertainment, a very fun (and unique!) game of bingo, a raffle, and brilliant company.
It was clear to everyone just how thoughtful and generous David is, putting so much heart into creating a night to remember while supporting causes close to his heart.
This heartfelt act of kindness means the world to us. As many of you know, it costs a great deal to run our hospice – a free service supporting families dealing with life limiting illnesses across our community during their most difficult times.
Donations like this help us continue to offer the care, compassion and comfort that Willowbrook is known for. From all of us at Willowbrook – thank you, David. Your generosity will make a real and lasting difference to so many lives.
