Our Light Up A Life appeal is an opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us.
Each year, we invite a family to be part of our Light Up A Life campaign, who have experienced the care we have provided, first hand.
The Knox family are switching on the lights on our Christmas tree at the hospice this year, in memory of Tony Knox, their much loved husband, Dad and Grandad.
Colette shared details about their Willowbrook journey and how our staff provided much needed care not only to Tony but to the whole family too.
The family said: “Tony faced pancreatic cancer with incredible strength and courage, always putting his family first. When his pain became too much, Willowbrook Hospice became our lifeline. From the moment he arrived, the team showed us such compassion, dignity, and genuine love – nothing was ever too much trouble.
They managed his pain, made him comfortable, and cared for our whole family with kindness that words can’t describe. Tony passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and free from pain. We’ll be forever grateful to Willowbrook for their outstanding care and support, and we’ll continue fundraising in Tony’s memory to help other families find the same comfort.”
