We’re incredibly proud to introduce John and Grace , our chosen runners who will be taking on the TCS London Marathon in support of Willowbrook Hospice – running with love, purpose, and deeply personal reasons behind every mile.
Why they’re running…
John’s Story:
John is running in memory of his mum, Melanie, who dedicated her career to the NHS and served as a trustee at Willowbrook Hospice. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2021, Melanie became a patient at Willowbrook herself. Seeing the care and compassion provided first-hand inspired John to raise funds in her memory.

Grace’s Story:
Grace is running in honour of her much-loved Nana Marian – the heart of her family, known for her warmth, laughter, and unwavering positivity. Willowbrook Hospice supported Grace’s family through an incredibly difficult time, helping them feel supported, understood, and cared for – even creating space for precious family moments during her nan’s final days.
