International Nurses Day

On International Nurses Day, we’re proud to celebrate the compassion, dedication, and expertise of our incredible hospice nursing team 💙💚

Here is Nurse Catherine’s story:

“After originally studying and working in business, I decided to retrain as a nurse following my family’s experience with cancer and the heartbreaking loss of my mum. That journey eventually led me to hospice care, where I’ve now had the privilege of working for more than 16 years.

It’s an honour to support patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments, and to be part of a team that brings comfort, dignity, and compassion every single day.

Alongside caring for patients, I also deliver interactive training sessions within our local community, helping care home staff, community nurses, and healthcare assistants build confidence and skills in end of life care.

Thanks to the generous support of Pilkington Grants, our palliative care training is currently heavily funded, allowing us to provide high-quality education at minimal cost to local health and social care professionals.

We’re passionate about sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and improving end of life care for patients and families across our community.

Today, we thank every nurse for the extraordinary difference you make each day 💙💚
