We wanted to share a lovely story with you about the kindness that exists in our community.
Recently, we received a £25 donation along with a message explaining how it came about. Someone was paying for petrol at Morrisons on Boundary Road when they realised their bank card had split and they couldn’t make the payment.
While they were trying to sort things out, a kind member of the queue stepped forward and offered to pay for the petrol. When the person asked about repayment, the generous stranger politely declined and instead suggested that, if they wished, they could make a donation to Willowbrook Hospice instead.
True to their word, that’s exactly what they did – and that’s how the £25 donation reached us.
We think this is such a beautiful example of kindness, generosity and paying it forward. One thoughtful gesture by a stranger has now gone on to help support the care we provide for patients and families in our community.
If you happen to be the kind person who carried out this good deed, we wanted to send our heartfelt thanks. Your generosity not only helped someone in the moment but has now helped Willowbrook too.
Stories like this remind us just how special our community is.
