Can you donate £7.23 now?

Ahead of this year’s World Hospice & Palliative Care Day on 9th October, each day we will be sharing news, initiatives and campaigns from Willowbrook Hospice to show our community how we are committed to equity and equality of care. We believe everyone should have access to palliative and end of life care, no matter who they are or what their background is. We will also be raising awareness and understanding of the needs of people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Since government funding only covers a fraction of our running costs, Willowbrook Hospice relies on your donations. We stand behind the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance’s message that governments across the world must finance palliative care for all people their their countries. Without the generosity of our community, we could not continue to provide our specialist care to the people who need it most in St Helens and Knowsley.

Did you know how much we need to raise to keep Willowbrook’s doors open?

  • Willowbrook’s running costs £5m per year.
  • We only receive around 26% of this form CCG funding, leaving over £3.8m per year – or £10,413 per day – that needs to be raised through our shops and fundraising.
  • This means we need to raise £7.23 per minute to keep running our much-needed services.

So today we’re asking our community to help. If you can spare £7.23, you can help us to make a difference to someone’s life and continue to provide vital care and support to someone in your community.

Please click here to donate now. You can donate £7.23 – or any other amount – as a one-off donation, or choose to make this a monthly recurring donation and continue to help support people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in future. Every donation makes a difference.
