On Wednesday 19th March 2025, the stunning Knowsley Hall played host to the much-anticipated Willowbrook Hospice Ladies Committee Lunch. A truly wonderful afternoon was enjoyed by all, filled with laughter, inspiration, and an incredible show of generosity, all in support of our vital hospice services.
We are absolutely delighted to share that the event raised over £16,000, with £2,500 of that total generated on the day itself through an auction, raffle, and the ever-popular Heads and Tails game. Every single penny raised will help us continue providing compassionate care and support to those who need it most.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Willowbrook Hospice Ladies Committee for their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment in organising such a spectacular event. Your efforts truly make a difference, and we are so grateful for all that you do.
Joan Reakes, Chair of the Ladies Committee, shared her gratitude, saying: “It was truly wonderful to see so many ladies come together in support of Willowbrook Hospice. The generosity and kindness shown on the day were overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.”

We were also privileged to welcome Gill Burns MBE, former England rugby player and captain, as our guest speaker. Gill shared her inspirational journey in the world of rugby, regaling us with stories of her experiences, the challenges she overcame, and the triumphs she achieved. Her speech was both empowering and entertaining, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
A huge thank you also goes to all the sponsors and local businesses who generously contributed to the event, as well as the individuals who made donations. Your support and kindness were instrumental in making this event a success, and we deeply appreciate your generosity in helping Willowbrook Hospice continue its vital work.
