We’re sending all our love and support to Anthony Darbyshire as he takes on an incredible and heartfelt challenge – a 16-mile swim across Lake Zurich, in loving memory of his beautiful mum, Sylvia.
Anthony shares, “When my mum was admitted to Willowbrook Hospice in December 2023, the compassion and care she received touched our hearts deeply. During such a painful time, the kindness shown to her and to our family brought us comfort and dignity that we will never forget.
This swim is more than just a physical challenge for me – it’s a tribute to the strength, resilience, and endless love my mum showed every single day. My longest swim before this was 11 miles, so this is pushing me beyond my limits. I’ve been training hard and am ready for the big day. My hope is to honour her memory and raise as much as possible to help Willowbrook continue their wonderful work supporting families like mine.”
