We were delighted to welcome Kate Stephenson from the St Helens Libraries Service, who joined us to share some exciting opportunities and fascinating local history with our attendees.
Thanks to recently secured funding supporting the “Big Read” initiative, the library service has been able to provide FREE books to the community – and we’re incredibly grateful that our Chatty Cafés have been chosen as one of the distribution points! It’s a wonderful way to encourage reading, connection, and conversation within our local community. 
Kate also treated everyone to a brilliant insight into the rich history of St Helens, sharing stories and information about some of the town’s most iconic landmarks and institutions, including the famous Beecham’s factory and the much-loved Theatre Royal, along with many other fascinating local highlights.
Our attendees absolutely loved the session – there was plenty of reminiscing, discussion, and shared memories around the tables, which is exactly what Chatty Café is all about. 
A huge thank you again to Kate and the library service for spending time with us and helping make the morning so special.
