Meet Our Winners
Congratulations Paul!
Rollover Winner – What Goes Around Comes Around!
The rollover has been won at £6600! Our lucky winner on Thursday 21st February was Mrs Ros Davies who ironically is also one of our long-standing volunteers for Willowbrook. They say what goes around comes around and in Ros’ case, it most certainly has. She has volunteered for Willowbrook for 29 years and has played our lottery since it first began in 1995, she was involved in supporting the initial set up the hospice and since then has volunteered in a number of various roles including supporting fundraising events and working in our shops.
Ros is passionate about the care that Willowbrook provide for local patients and playing the lottery is just one of the ways in which she supports the cause. When she received the initial call to say she had won the rollover she was volunteering in our Page Moss shop and initially thought it was a prank call!
Once she realised she really had won she contacted her family to tell them the fantastic news. Ros would like to treat her grandchildren but hasn’t yet planned what else she would like to do with her winnings.
The rollover has been
won again
The rollover has been won at £5800! And the lucky winner is Mr Robert Lake of St Helens. Mr Lake has been a member of the lottery since 2014. He signed up on the doorstep when one of our canvassers called to ask him does he want to play.
He knew about Willowbrook and of the good work we do. He said ‘family members have been touched by cancer so I like to support Willowbrook and their help they give people’. He’d like to promote his lucky win so others reading this if you’re not already a member please join ‘look what can happen’ said Mr Lake. He will be treating his partner, daughter, grandkids and family all to a ‘slice of his pie’.
Another lucky rollover winner!
Mrs Gwilt was overjoyed to hear that she had won the rollover prize of £8000 in our hospice lottery. Both she and Mr Gwilt have been playing members for over 10 years. She joined the lottery many years after hearing the about the care Willowbrook provide and wanted to support such a good cause.
Mrs Gwilt hasn’t decided yet what she is going to spend her winnings on yet but she would like to go on a family cruise or buy a new wheelchair for her husband.
She is going to continue playing our lottery and would encourage everyone to join.
Why not have ago!
Mr Birchall went against the grain when our lottery canvasser Chris called at his house to ask him would he like to sign up and join our weekly lottery.
Mr Birchall said he does not usually sign up for anything on his doorstep but after hearing about the care Willowbrook Hospice provide for people in his local area, he signed up there and then.
He is now glad he did, as on Thursday 21st he won our rollover prize that had reached £4800.
Mr Birchall was delighted when he received the call to tell him the good news. He said how pleased and surprised he was to win, as he was happy just to support Willowbrook. Mr Birchall said he would be spending his winnings on a treat for his family.
