Strictly Glitter Ball 2023

What a FA BU LOUS night was had for the Willowbrook Strictly Glitter Ball at the Totally Wicked Stadium!

Our take on Strictly Come Dancing last Saturday 28th October was an incredible success, raising an astonishing £37,000!

The evening promised to be filled with glitz, glamour, and incredible talent and it did not disappoint. The purpose of the night was to raise vital funds for our local hospice, and to show awareness of the amazing work that our staff does for our local community.

This year’s competitors included staff from our very own hospice, supporters and patients. They were supported by their family, friends and colleagues who filled the room with glitter, sparkle and oozed charm.

The evening was compered by the fantastic ITV’s Paul Crone, guests enjoyed a three course meal, and in between dances, an auction took place with exclusive items such as signed Conor Coady football boots, artwork by Johnny Vegas, a signed Saints RFC ball and much more.

Our contestants gave it their all, and wowed the crowd! Some have never danced like this before, and gave performances that would not have been out of place at the Blackpool Tower! The judges were a lot kinder to our contestants than the likes of Craig Revel-Horwood and only received a few boos!

Our winner of the Strictly Glitter Ball 2023 trophy was Lauren Lourens, a local solicitor who chose to take part to give back to the hospice after knowing a number of friends who needed to access the service. Lauren performed an energetic jive with her partner Donna, and scored a perfect score of 30 out of 30!!

An additional trophy was given for the People’s Vote, and our very own Dr Stephen Fu was chosen as this winner with his partner Emma, with their entertaining Back to the Future themed jive dance!

We are grateful to Silhouette Dance School for their support with providing the dance lessons to all our contestants, and our headline sponsor Frodshams Solicitors, and other local organisations and businesses  for making the event possible.

Thank you again to everyone who supported our Strictly Glitter Ball, we are truly overwhelmed with the amount raised.

Due to this enormous success, plans are already underway for 2024’s Strictly Glitter Ball!
