We were delighted to welcome Mary Gerrity, who came to the hospice with a beautiful collection of handmade crocheted hearts for the families of our patients.
Mary has been lovingly making these hearts and flowers for the past couple of years after her friend’s father-in-law was cared for by our hospice. Wanting to give something back, she began creating these thoughtful keepsakes to bring comfort to others during one of life’s most difficult moments.
Each pair of hearts has a special meaning. One heart stays with the patient, while the matching heart is given to their loved one – a small but powerful reminder that they will always be connected, even when they are apart. ![]()

Mary’s heartfelt gifts have now been passed to our Bereavement Team, who will ensure they reach the families who need them most.
Thank you, Mary, for sharing your talent, your compassion and your kindness with our hospice community. Your beautiful creations will provide comfort to so many families and are a lasting reminder that even the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference.
