Willowbrook Hospice Refurbishment

We are thrilled to unveil some photographs of our recent hospice refurbishment!

The refurbishment of the bedrooms was self funded, our Trustees agreed to allocate some of our reserves to upgrade some of our older rooms which desperately needed upgrading.

We now have 10 high quality single bedrooms which all have ensuites and individual access to a terrace so patients can enjoy the outdoors even if they are unable to leave their bed. Additionally, one room has been equipped with a ceiling mounted hoist which enables more dignified care for anyone has lost their mobility.

At the same time, we felt the public areas of the hospice needed to be refreshed for our patients and visitors. We successfully received funding for a grant with John Lewis which enabled us to access their Golden Jubilee Trust secondment fund.

Colette Tritschler – a visual merchandiser from the Trafford store – was allocated to our hospice and oversaw the design and project management in alignment with the needs of the hospice patients. We now have a completely overhauled reception, quiet space and café area. The transformation is incredible and a significant improvement for Willowbrook.

Combined with Colette’s skills and help from our Fundraising Team, we would like to thank some businesses who donated equipment and materials, which saved us around £30,000.

B&Q, Dunelm and Panorama Kitchens, Brewers, Amazon, Ikea, Home bargains, John Lewis, Wain Homes, Carrolls Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning and Restful Nights Liverpool.

New Dawn Projects supported the later work, we are really grateful to have local support for our hospice.

We welcomed a number of supporters and stakeholders last week to have a look around our new facilities:  Wain Homes, Panorama Kitchens, Merseycare, Cheshire and Merseyside ICB, John Lewis and Knowsley Chamber.

We are really proud of our refreshed hospice, it wouldn’t have been possible without the community support in making this all happen. We are very fortunate to now have a beautiful setting for those who require specialist palliative care and holistic services to patients and their families.

Due to the current situation with Coronavirus and for the wellbeing of our patients, we kindly ask that all monetary donations are paid direct to our bank account, via online access to Nat West Bank:
