Liam Littler and his family took on the Willowbrook Colour Run in memory of his beloved dad, Darren Littler – and Liam has already raised over £1,000 to support our hospice!
Darren spent his final days with us at Willowbrook after some time in Whiston Hospital. While he initially hoped to return home, the care he needed brought him here – and we’re told he felt right at home from the moment he arrived.
Liam and his sister Kirsty shared touching memories of their dad’s time at Willowbrook. They told us how Darren brought his PlayStation with him, which has since been kindly donated to the hospice – and how, thanks to a special machine called a BioZoon we use here, he was even able to enjoy the taste of his favourite rum and coke.
But what meant most was simply being together. After only limited visits in hospital, the family were finally able to spend quality time with Darren, sharing laughs, memories, and love. Kirsty said he was comfortable, pain-free, and happy in our care.
We’re so honoured to have cared for Darren, and so grateful to Liam, Kirsty and their family & friends for their incredible support. Every step they take at the Colour Run will help ensure more families can experience the same comfort and compassion when they need it most.
