Supporter Spotlight – Ronan

Today we shine a massive spotlight on one incredible human- Ronan, who has recently completed the Paris Marathon and raised almost £5,000 (and counting!) for Willowbrook Hospice

Ronan didn’t just run 26.2 miles, he ran with a heart full of love, purpose, and strength in honour of his brilliant dad, who has been courageously living with advanced oesophageal cancer and, more recently, terminal brain tumours.

Despite so many challenges, major surgery, chemo, radiotherapy, and more, Ronan’s dad has never lost his spirit, his sense of humour, or his endless supply of dad jokes. And through the ups and downs, Willowbrook Hospice became a beacon of light and comfort for him and the whole family.

As Ronan beautifully put it:

“From the first day, the staff at Willowbrook have been so welcoming, supportive, and shown endless levels of kindness… They’ve offered moments of peace, laughter, hope, and multiple servings of tea, cake, and trifle.”

Ronan, we are so proud of you. Your drive to give back in such a meaningful way is inspiring, and your dad’s strength and optimism clearly run in the family.

Your marathon effort helps us continue to offer care, dignity and support to families navigating life-limiting illnesses. Every step you took will make a difference for someone else, and for that, we can’t thank you enough.
