“I have been volunteering at Willowbrook since 2023, I collect and wash the dishes in the hospice café (and do anything else that Ged asks me to do!).
I started volunteering after I saw a flyer, seeking volunteers. Having been involved in the voluntary sector during my working life mainly in a managerial/trustee role, I wanted to something more practical with my time.
I enjoy being part of a committed and talented team of people who do such an exceptional job.
I have gained some social skills through this role, and have realised how important teamwork is. I enjoy meeting the university students and chatting to them about their placement, hearing about their aspirations.
I would recommend volunteering, there is something here for everyone to contribute to this outstanding charity.”
